Dr. Jay James May
attended the University of Sussex, where he was awarded an unprecedented trio of prizes, including Highest-Ranked
Student in School of English. He earned his Master's and Ph.D. at the University of York. Both degrees were funded
by the UK Arts and Humanities Research Council.
Dr. May has taught worldwide, beginning in his native England, before teaching in Spain and China for ten years.
The foundation for Dr. May’s teaching philosophy is his vital role in students’ personal and academic development and encouraging high expectations inside and outside the school. He strongly emphasizes creating an accessible and cooperative classroom environment and establishing close working relationships with students.
