Matthew Pearce has been involved in STEM education for more than 25 years. He started his career in London, U.K., where he taught Physics at Latymer Upper School from grades 6-12 for ten years. For grades 11-12 he taught Advanced Level Physics using the Nuffield approach that emphasizes investigative learning. In addition, he served as Head of Physics at that school before crossing the Atlantic in 2004.
For ten years prior to coming to PRISMS he worked at the prestigious Thomas Jefferson High School for Science & Technology (TJ), which was voted the #1 high school in America by US News and World Report for 4 years in a row and most recently by Newsweek magazine. TJ emphasizes student research, and Matt directed the Senior Research Mentorship Program at TJ while simultaneously serving as Head of the Science & Technology Division.
He joined PRISMS as Executive Principal in July 2014.
