Princeton International School of Mathematics and Science (PRISMS) seeks to hire a full-time
registered School Nurse (RN) to begin July 1, 2025. Located in Princeton, NJ, PRISMS is an
independent, international, co-educational boarding school focused on STEM education for
students in grades 9 through 12.
- Applicants should be qualified and experienced with preventative health care, health
assessment, and referral procedures. They must also be able to work cooperatively with faculty,
staff, parents, and students and hold high professional standards. Additionally, successful
candidates must be able to guide families with wisdom, warmth, and intelligence on health
matters related to high-school-aged children.
Job Duties:

Provide individualized, professional nursing services to students while demonstrating
cultural competence and recognizing the diversity in culture and beliefs.

When school is in session, be on campus from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM and on-call during
evenings and weekends.

Advise the Administration and Board about best practices in managing campus-wide
health-related issues.

Assure the Student Health Records comply with all local, state, and federal laws
governing independent schools.

Manage student health records, administer medication, provide emergency services,
and other related issues.

Manage health forms necessary to ensure efficient and effective operations of Student
Health Services.

Monitor students who become ill and be the lead communicator with parents of such
students.

Communicate with parents and staff about health practices, records, immunizations, etc.

Train students and staff in policies, practices, and procedures related to student and
community health.

Communicate effectively with the school physician.

Develop emergency health plans, and ensure compliance with established procedures
and protocols from governing agencies.

Transport students to the hospital or other appropriate urgent care facility as necessary.

Advise the Administrative Team regarding decisions regarding the health and safety of
students, faculty, and staff.
