PRISMS Wins National Science Bowl Regional Championship

On Saturday, February 25, the PRISMS Science Bowl team competed in the DOE-sponsored New Jersey Regional Competition at Princeton Plasmon Physics Laboratory. The group, coached by Dr. Steven Chen, comprises five students: senior, Cedric X.; junior, Felicity N.; and sophomores Peter W., Josh S., and team captain Justin F.. PRISMS’ team started strong, winning 258 to 0. However, the team lost in its next match, pushing them into the one-loss bracket. The team won nine matches in a row without any breaks between matches, including a rematch with their previous defeaters. There were some very close matches, but the team managed its string of victories. All team members pulled their weight throughout the competition and contributed to the victory. The team looks forward to the all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C., for the National Competition at the end of April.
