Interscholastic athletics came to a close for PRISM' soccer and volleyball teams at the end of October. The soccer team, led by Dr. Jay James May, struggled throughout the fall and failed to bring home a win over seven games, but the team showed it could play with great spirit and sportsmanship. The final game of the season was particularly heartbreaking: a back-and-forth afair with Lawrenceville that PRISMS had a chance to tie with a penalty kick as time expired. The game ended in a 4-3 loss for the Perigrines. As the team says farewell to four senior players, it looks forward to some exciting talent in the freshman class-promising players who showed a strong commitment to the team and have years to develop their skills as individuals and a team.
The girls' volleyball team won two of five games against local independent schools, falling just shy of last year's three wins. Overall, the team was more competitive than last year, according to coach Conor Barnes, with improved serve percentages, better passing, and even a few attacking plays that helped the team stay closer than ever to their benchmark team, Lawrenceville, in the final game of the season. The 14-member squad celebrates the departure of three senior athletes who have shown great flexibility and leadership over the past years as the team refocused on interscholastic competition. With two strong recruits from the freshman class, the team is excited to start training this spring for fall 2026.
The PRISMS basketball team launches its season in the first week of December.
